Most people do not love to visit the Dentist. Cerec, one-visit dentistry, enables the Dentist to do quality fillings, crowns and veneers in one visit.

In this one-visit the Dentist drills the tooth preparing it for the restoration. A 3-D digital camera is used to take an optical impression of the tooth. This digital image is used to design the one-visit restoration. After the milling machine receives the design information, it cuts a ceramic block to the size specified within 15 minutes. The one-visit restoration is then bonded in the patient's tooth.

A misaligned bite, meaning biting too hard on a single tooth or perhaps on one side of the mouth, can cause jaw pain and breakage of teeth. In order to correct a misaligned bite and have all teeth occluding at the same time with the same pressure, a new computer technology called Tekscan is available. With Tekscan, the patient bites on a cellophane sheet embedded with sensors and attached to the computer. A graphic display appears on the monitor showing the teeth that are causing the bad bite. The Dentist now knows which teeth to adjust in order to bring the occlusion back to normal.

Many people are subconscious of their GUMMY SMILES. About 1 out of 4 people have their excess of gum tissue especially over the front teeth. A simple laser procedure can remove this GUMMY SMILE appearance.

Once this gum tissue is removed, the GUMMY look disappears and the gum tissue stays healthier. The tooth surfaces that are presently exposed can be cleaned properly. Now, also these exposed tooth surfaces can be treated with Veneers, which are partial porcelain laminates to protect and complete the Healthy Smile.

When a patient needs a ceramic restoration, this can now be done while you wait in one visit. In this single visit the tooth is prepared for the ceramic restoration and an optical impression is taken with a 3-D digital camera. While you wait, a milling machine receives the information and cuts a ceramic block to the specified size. The ceramic restoration is then bonded into the tooth. In the past this procedure would take 2 visits, while the outside laboratory fabricated the restoration. Now, while you wait, this Dentistry is kept in the office.

Digital Shade Matching

Digital Shade Matching video - NYC Restorative & Cosmetic Dentist

There are times in a patient's life when a dental emergency occurs. It can be a broken tooth, a broken crown or lost crown. When these dental emergencies happen during a patient's holiday, it becomes a nightmare. But, here comes Dr. Clifford Williams, the Flying Dentist takes his dental drill, dental laboratory equipment and dental expertise with him aboard his Twin Engine Beechcraft Baron to the rescue. Whether it is a simple or serious dental emergency, this unique approach works.

When veneers or crowns are needed on front teeth, it can be very difficult to match the color or translucency with the surrounding teeth. A new scientific tool called a Spectra Shade is now used by the Dentist to get an exact color match. The Spectra Shade takes a digital picture of the teeth and saves the image with all the color differences and translucencies. This image is sent electronically to the dental laboratory technician, allowing the technician to duplicate the shade for the new veneer or crown.
