First Non-Surgical Biopsy

#

Oral Cancer kills 30,000 Americans every year - more than prostate and ovarian cancer combined. The oral cancer cure rates have not improved over the last 10 years at all, despite the fact that the oral cavity is easy to inspect at the patient's semi-annual dental visit. According to the American Dental Association statistics, one in ten patients have oral lesions that should be investigated, and of the one in ten who do have lesions, two to three percent are diagnosed cancerous or pre-cancerous.

"Typically, oral cancer starts out innocent looking," says New York City dentist, Dr. Clifford Williams. "By the time it starts to look like a problem, it is often beyond the point of curing, even with radical, disfiguring surgery. Using the Oral CDx Brush Biopsy, a new non-invasive surgical biopsy now available in dental offices to detect oral cancer and pre-cancer, dentists can evaluate benign-looking, commonly encounter oral lesions at the earliest sighting and if they are dangerous, treat them."

This procedure is not only simple, but is three times more effective than mammogram testing, which, until now, has been the most successful cancer detector. That's good news for both dentists and for patients who were once terrified of getting an oral cancer checkup.
